The Risks of Database System - 1059 Words
Executive Summary The Army uses a database system that provides information retrieval capabilities for the Army National Guard (ARNG) commissioned officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel. Its a computerized personnel information application designed to support the following functional areas; Strength Accounting and Personnel Management. The system provides the end users with capabilities to: enter data, including database updates and data validations; edit transaction input and update the database; generate reports and retrieve information throughout queries; generate interface transactions for the headquarters operating level at the National Guard Bureau (NGB), Military Pay Branch (MPB) at the State Level, and Retirement Points Accounting Management (RPAM) and generating output for external interfaces and data transfers. The following Report articulates the top 10 potentially highest risks that may creep into our database system and impact it. Actions and strategies are discussed to prevent these risks from occurring. Scope and Objectives of Report. The scope of the Report is discussion of the risks that may enter the Army data base system. The system keeps information on everyone within the Army National Guard and the problem is that we will accrue costs if the information is not correctly entered.
